Bio

At this Moment, the Nigerian Australian producer and vocalist IJALE is the definition of a hidden gem.

Formerly known as Crooked Letter, he decided to quit his 9 to 5 and level up from being a bedroom producer; making the move from Sydney to Melbourne to turn his passion for music into a full-time hustle. Quick to jump into his new surroundings, he uploaded his first official song to triple J Unearthed on a whim.

Less than 24 Hours later his afro-inspired single “heretics” was played on Triple J's airwaves. Soon after that, he was touring the country in support of some of Australia's most exciting new talents.

Since then the 27-year-old has been building a slow but surefooted buzz in Melbourne playing a slew of live shows at some of the cities most beloved live music haunts.

Forever comfortable taking his time, you won't find him unless he wants you to; but now he has surfaced with a new moniker and a sound that is hard to deny.

The name, given to him by his uncle now passed is his way of putting his culture first through his music, in which he rhymes over “a melting pot of Afrobeat, searing electronic and traditional hip hop stylings” (Themusic.com.au).

His Next Single Tempo sees him contextualizing his roots in new and exciting ways.

Watch out for IJALE in 2019 and beyond.

Killer flow, you make it sound effortless. Love the production and your relaxed delivery - but still with heart. More please.
