Bio

After exploding onto the scene in 2017 with their remarkable debut single acidic and follow-up release V.I.P. and latest track swell, Spotify's 'Transcend' playlist coverperson, imbi the girl has turned heads, carving their own path across Australia and beyond. Raised in Sydney, imbi the girl’s unique combination of poetic hip-hop, soul and R&B has led to them featuring prominently on Billboard, Noisey and Triple J as well as music festival appearances at Listen Out, BIGSOUND and Groovin The Moo.

Following their impressive debut year, imbi the girl's fan base has continued to grow after featuring on Spit Syndicate, Oh Boy and Esoterik’s respective singles. From recently supporting Sampa The Great, FKJ and Horrorshow to playing at festivals alongside Aminé, Lady Leshurr and Vera Blue, imbi the girl’s live set has been described by AAA Backstage as “one of the most extraordinary moments in music ever witnessed”.

Having just performed at VIVID Sydney’s annual festival and recently crowned the Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist of The Week, imbi the girl passionately describes their upcoming debut EP as “a small taste of the goodness that is yet to come”.

Your strongest chorus yet. This one's full of relatable lyrical snippets and your trademark rolling-on-and-on verses that make me feel like I'm tumbling gently down a lush green hill.
