Ishaya McBeth-Mason, better known as his artist name ‘Ish Quan’, is a singer, rapper, songwriter and producer. Melbourne born & Raised, Ish is heavily influenced by artists such as Post Malone, Juice Wrld and Drake, by their unique sounds and ability to produce their own tracks, also the capability to mix of genres combining rap and pop to create a new modern style of music, probably more known as ‘Sing rapping’.
With those artists being a big influence, Ish’s parents also have played a big role in his upbringing with music, with his mother being a vocalist and father a guitarist. Ish started playing the piano at age 4 and later picked up the guitar and hasn’t let it go since. With Ish learning instruments so early on, it made him want to explore musically, at age 16 he started to use garage band, recording his guitar and creating loops here and there. A few years later in 2018, Ish decided to take it seriously, working out what direction he wanted to go in, starting off making music influenced by Ed Sheeran and later deciding that pop music wasn’t his thing, he wanted to go for a more hip-hop style.
