    ‘Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch’ Lewis Carroll Like the author who penned the poem that inspired their name, Jabberwocky Down have a unique and unconventional imagination that they have applied to their creative talents in music. Drawing on an eclectic mix of musical influences ranging from Hiatus Kaiyote, to Tigran Himasyan, to the jazz greats and more, their music is a fresh and energetic mix – alternative pop/soul with an edge. Like many of the best bands, the members formed friendships while studying; in this case, at the Queensland Conservatorium. This shared background in jazz can be heard in the depth of their music, and it aided them in having an individual voice as songwriters. Having made their inception in mid 2016, the band has been in creative overdrive, a proliferation of new material being produced.
