About
Jackalpac entered the Brisbane scene in 2008, established by frontman and songwriter Dan Huey. The band released Porcelain Plastic Proportions in 2009, and completed their sophomore EP, Satellites for free digital download in January 2011. For an indie rock outfit Jackalpac has an eclectic sound, featuring melancholic vocals over atmospheric guitars and heavy grooves. This production-focused group draws influence from artists such as Kashmir, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and The Smiths. Jackalpac’s live shows are always energetic and captivating as they scream and stomp through sets that go up and down like a pure sine wave. They’ve supported the likes of John Steel Singers, Sherlock’s Daughter, The Big Dead, Skinny Jean and been played on a variety of radio stations, including Triple J and 4zzz. "Porcelain Plastic Proportions is accomplished and easy to listen to, especially as a first taste of a new band." - RAVE MAGAZINE. Contact: jackalpacmusic@gmail.com
