Drawing influence from American rap, French pop as well as bands like Butthole Surfers, Ween and Spacemen 3, Jasper Clifford Smith's music is almost impossible to pigeon-hole. Starting out in the mid 2000's as front man for Sydney psych punks Warhorse, a band known as much for their destructive live performances as their music. Warhorse released one EP (2008's Gun$) before calling it a day in 2009. Jasper Clifford Smith then started the short lived experimental trip hop project Arkestra (with Aleesha Dibbs and James Domeyko) before morphing into dancehall spitter Pele in satirical sound system Sick Python. While working in a strip club Jasper Clifford Smith recorded his first solo EP (2013's Tipping Dollars). An EP which marries musical cues from the soundtrack of the flesh trade (Rhianna, Akon etc) with dark tales of cocaine, marriage collapse, hedonism and abuse.
