Bio

"Does all that it says on the tin - whirling surf lick, shuffling indie beat and pastoral folk flourishes. It's all capped off by Jess' maple syrup'd voice and it'll be in my head all afternoon." Dave Ruby Howe Triple J

"File Dunbar alongside artists like Tori Amos and Feist" Leicester Bangs

"Strong songs polished to a shine by thoughtful arrangements played expansively by an excellent, versatile band that float and sting when needed. Jess sings them all with an intimate beauty, knowing but with a wink of playfulness, a little bit Fiest or folky Kimbra, but really totally herself." Christopher Read (Strata Music)

22 year old Sydney-based artist Jess Dunbar is not your average female singer/songwriter.

Her distinctive "maple syrup'd voice" alone is enough to turn heads. Within her songwriting Jess is not afraid to take risks, blending indie with folk, folk with pop, pop with rock. She is one of those rare artists who does not wear her influences on her sleeve, she is instead brave enough to be an artist all on her own.

2012 saw her releasing her debut E.P 'Fools March' produced by respected producer and songwriter Adrian Deutsch (Ex Red Riders) and mastered by Andrew Edgeson (Angus Stone, The Rubens, Art Vs Science).

In February 2014 she recorded three new singles at Vienna People Studios, and is releasing her third single "Honey Cheat" in the coming month. She has created a reputation for herself in the live circuit, supporting the likes of Lior, Steve Balbi, Matt Corby & Diesel to name a few.
