About
Infamous roots and reggae troubadours from the Bundjalung hinterland of Northern NSW’s rainbow region. A collection of rebel songs entwined in Caribbean grooves. This year will see Jesse Morris and the Shakedown drop their first ever vinyl release mixed by Lord Tanuki himself (Paulie B) of Yama Nui studio fame. The record titled ‘The Children of the Sun’ features the Shakedown band in full septet formation including the powerhouse rhythm section of Hugh Jones and Tk Dread, with multi instrumentalists Chelsea McNelliey and Elena Marcigot playing saxophones, clarinet, melodica and backing voices, live-analogue dubs by Marky Power, keys and organs by Stafford Ivory Smith and songsmith Jesse Morris on guitars and voice.
