Bio

Jesse Squire grew up in rural NSW, Australia and moved to Sydney after being accepted into Sydney Collage of the Arts for film. It was there he realised he was a terrible film-maker, but a passable songwriter. "Little Arrow" Is his first solo effort to date.
"Little Arrow" was recorded locally in Newtown artist Co-op, studio and living space Alpha House.

"Little Arrow" is a simple examination of love, separation, homelessness and hope. Squire's songwriting practice is very much stemmed from believe that "If you make art from a deep place, It has a wide embrace".
Squire met local musician/singer-songwriter and producer Darby at a gig they were both playing. After a friendly first meeting and a subsequent few nights out they decided to make a record. Over the next few months, they went on to create "Little Arrow" with Squires songs and Darby's sense for production and skill for intricate vocal harmonies. This sits the record somewhere with something from early Leonard Cohen (clearly one of Squire's key inspirations) and for parts of it, something you might hear from a sixties "vocal" groups (The Mammas and the Pappas, The Fleetwoods, Jefferson Airplane) Also of note, local country-singer Andy Golledge lends his vocal talents to the soulful climax at the end of the EP.

This song reminds me of another song but I can't put my find on it or, maybe, it reminds me of another time and place - who knows?
All I do know is that it's a beaut of a tune, and you should give it a listen.
