Bio

Jethro Pickett is a Melbourne based singer songwriter who has just released his second record, France, via Behind The Beat Records. Written and Recorded between Dublin, London and Yikesville studio in Melbourne, France is a fresh sounding release with elements of freak folk and psychedelia. Melodic songs are at the core. Currently on tour in Australia and about to head to Europe in July/August, catch Jethro live with his band or order France at all good record stores.

Jethro and band have performed in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Australia, the UK and Ireland. They've also been fortunate to play alongside some of their favourite acts enjoying festival slots at Castlepalooza, Féile Na Bealtaine, HWCH in Dublin and Electric Picnic.

"Produced by Shane O'Mara, this is a record of glorious subtleties and emotional depth" - Jeff Jenkins - The Music

"If you’re in need of an album to soundtrack the beauty and absurdity of life, look no further than France. This is a record enriched by odyssey, intrigue and above all – uniqueness." - Happy Mag

"Slightly creepy, strangely soothing, and entirely enthralling, Jethro Pickett’s latest offering Gene is your golden ticket to the world’s most twisted chocolate factory." - Happy Mag

"Pickett's major strengths lie in his ear for melody and harmony, with the breezier songs like The Mystic's Trip and Thank You Where Did You Go? backdropped by weighty, sumptuous vocal arrangements, and in penning delightful, rollicking alt-country gems, like Everything and Lorelei." -Sydney Morning Herald

"an abundance of warm, rich tones, combining vintage sounds with modern production" - Right Chord Music UK

This definitely needs to be in some sort of movie soundtrack. But why's it so short!? Would have loved it to keep going a bit longer <3
