Singer, songwriter and guitarist Jeremy Gronow has been playing in bands for more than 25 years. He is best known for his work with Helvelln who won the 1990 National Campus band competition (at the time the biggest competition of its kind in the Southern hemisphere), toured Australia and released an album on Mushroom Records in 1991. Helvelln appeared on national TV shows such as Hey Hey its Saturday and the Steve Vizard show as well as gaining international airplay via songs licensed to Neighbours. Following Helvelln, in the mid-90s Jeremy formed Colourbomb, a short lived and chaotic blues rock band. In 1999 his new band Idiot Son released its first EP and held a longstanding residency at St Kilda’s Doulton Bar. The band set about recording an LP but disintergrated after completing it in 2000.
