Bio

Jimmy Junk Heart is the musical alter ego of 22 year old Jimmy Hanson from Melbourne, Australia.

From an early age Jimmy developed a passion for rock and roll music, influenced by his Father’s record collection consisting of the likes of The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and Led Zeppelin. Throughout his school years, Jimmy’s sole instrument was the drums, playing in several bands as a teenager. However, on the verge of 20, Jimmy became inspired to become a songwriter and frontman, resulting in the birth of Jimmy Junk Heart.

In late 2013, Jimmy recorded his debut self titled EP; performing all instruments himself. Following its release in February 2014, Jimmy earned praise from the likes of NME, Happy, adamNOTeve, Hey Indie and Vulture Magazine, received airplay from community radio stations including FBi, Triple R, PBS, 4ZZZ and SYN, and shared the stage with Aussie favourites Bad Dreems, Bloods, The Good Sports and Bad News Toilet.

Hungry to return to the studio, Jimmy recently recorded his second EP of the year “Young Years”. To be released on December 5, the five track EP includes the songs "Breaking Up", “Live Forever” and “Keep Your Head”.

There's heartbreak in the guitar chords, in that voice, in it all. It's direct and melancholic and sweet. Really into this.

Such a cruisey tune; laidback, road movie music. Nice one JJH.
