Bio

I'm a a writer, poet, singer songwriter, artist and chook wrangler from Maleny in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Influenced by all music and many different artists. My songs usually contain some kind of social statement based on my observations of the world and myself. I have been singing since I was at least three although my memories are vague. Mum tells me I would go out into the yard and stand on a mound of dirt we had and sing Pat Boone to the toddler next door who would stare at me through the fence. I'd also sing to workmen out on the road or anyone else who was walking past. I seemed to lose that for some reason by the time the '60s started and I mostly just whistled or sang in my head until I got a guitar when I was 16 in 1970 and taught myself. Then I began to sing again.

Kerslake's voice has so many undertones of country noir. Ominous in nature, it suits the sparseness of the guitar.

City Sidewalk Blues as a song title has a Lou Reed vibe. Aurally this track took me to the 80's or somewhere near the Ed Cooper, Sunny Boys era.
