Up and coming DJ and producer, Jordz, has been described as if RÜFÜS DU SOL and Massive Attack blended into one. The coastal based artist has been involved in the Melbourne music scene since being awarded Monash University’s 'Emerging Producer Prize of 2017’. Jordz' project is a reflection of the ways music, art, light, and darkness, can blend together to create a powerful internal sonic space.
Taking on the writing, production, vocals, and mixing of her songs, Jordz released her debut single, 'Bushfire', in 2019, described by Simon from Music Talks as a narrative that "builds a quiet tension" with "first rate" production. In 2020, Jordz has released a second solo single, 'Cloud', subsequently releasing a remix EP featuring artists Daniel Tonik, Wilko, Feed Hydra, J.Ckt, and Scott Stevenson. 2020 also saw Jordz place in the Top 100 of Listen Up's Songwriting Prize.
Jordz has performed over 100 DJ gigs between 2018 and the start of 2021, alongside artists such as Alice Ivy, Alex Lahey, and The Grogans. Jordz' plans for the future are big, and live. Electronic sets are in the process, which will incorporate live vocals from Jordz, alongside sounds from her songs played through Ableton Live, using hardware such as the Roland SPD-SX, Pioneer DJM800, and a Novation Launchkey. In April 2021, Jordz supported Abroad at The Workers Club, performing an original-filled DJ set, with live sounds performed on her SPD-SX.
