Although Jove formed its basis early 2004, its members have been involved in other bands since 1999 playing headlining shows at the Metro, Club 77, The Iron Duke, Bar Broadway and The Excelsior, and supporting acts such as The Screaming Jets, Nitocris, King Mungi, In the Grey, Sick Puppies and Agaugefor. Jova has a sound that is not influenced by music trends or commercial hypes, but by the 5 members’ diverse music tastes and common goal of creating unique music. Alternative Rock, Ambient Metal, and Experimental Rock are a few terms used to describe Jova's sound. The raw sub-conscious emotion Jova generates varies from an eerie calm to a thunderous stomp that moves people physically, emotionally and mentally. Jova’s two home recorded demo cd’s (To Know & Music 2.0) had great mp3.com.au success, ranking as high as #4 in the Alternative/Rock charts.
