Describe your music
Progressive new school hip-hop that draws from a wide variety of musical influences. I try not to spit random rhymes over random beats. I always try to treat my vocals as an instrument within the track. Lyrically I always follow a theme. The concept must be clear in my head before i write a track.
What made you start MC-ing?
I can't pinpoint it. I had an old mac with some very basic a sound editing program (it didn't even have a tempo setting so i would make hi-hat loops and treat them as the grid!) and felt that i needed vocals over the beats. I was listening to wu tang, public enemy, mos def, tricky, prodigy & rhyming just resonated with me.
Do you play many gigs?
I have played heaps of gigs over the years but have recently been much more studio minded. Now I have new material I'm ready to get back out there! If you're reading this (which you obviously are) hit me up for your family functions! My band, The Tall Man Sound System (with Dragonfly, Mech MC, & DJ's Sizzle & Affiks) is also powering up for a national tour in August/September.
What have you got against Mel Gibson?
Mel Gibson is a shapeshifting reptilian ;-) ... There's just something very creepy and off about the Passion of the Christ. My song is about walking your own path. I am not the messiah...just a very naughty boy.
What have you got planned for the future?
Passion of the Julez is the first of a four part series of short releases ripping off major motion pictures... Upcoming titles include Frankenjulez & Julez of DeNial. I also have a trip hop project called Noctambulist which is linked to my myspace. Oh! & the Tall Man Sound System has aspirations of world domination!View Profile Hide Interview
