Genre-bending 4 piece from the outskirts of Sydney, Just Breathe have been making waves since their inception in 2015. Their sophomore EP ‘Antechinus’ marks a transition point for the band, being the first collection of material recorded with current guitarist, Ed. Produced by Blake Wares at Cellophane Studios, the 5-track offering showcases a development of the band’s sound, and unlike the band’s self-titled debut, accurately reflects what the band is capable of in a live setting.
Taking out Macquarie University’s battle of the bands in September 2016 saw Just Breathe open the main stage at RE:Conception – a reboot of the iconic ‘Conception Day’, alongside San Cisco and Thelma Plum. An appearance at Party In The Paddock, Tasmania in February 2017 sparked further momentum, which saw the release of the single, ‘Fader’ and a support slot for a sold-out Metro Theatre show with The Vanns for Vivid 2017. Further large-scale bills including opening for Aussie pub rock legends, Mental As Anything, and the band’s first international support slot with Against The Current (U.S.) prove that the band are no strangers to the big stage.
