Artist:KAKADU COLLECTIVE

KAKADU COLLECTIVE evolved from a unique, ‘collaborative storytelling’ project facilitated by NFP organisation - Desert Pea Media. The project brought a group of artists to Jabiru for two weeks to work with young people, knowledge holders and service providers - focusing on storytelling as a mechanism to create conversation around cultural and social change. ‘DPM RECORDS’ represents a collective of producers, songwriters and artists that work creatively with Original Nations young people, artists, and communities around Australia. Connected to groundbreaking NFP organisation ‘Desert Pea Media’, we support young artists and community groups to amplify their voices and find their own place in the national conversations around culture and country. Our work focuses on creative mentoring programs for young people, skills development, industry training, release campaigns, wellbeing and sustainable art-making.
