Artist:Kathryn McKee

Originally a cellist, Kathryn McKee's tunes have their roots in classical music but have been fertilised by rock, pruned by pop and watered with electronic music. Kathryn and her cello have performed all over Australia as well as in Asia, Europe and the Pacific. She has played with Kanye West, Il Divo, Archie Roach, Guy Sebastian, Musica Viva, Doch Gypsy Orchestra, the Deep Blue Orchestra and at the Brisbane, Woodford Folk and Melbourne Fringe Festivals. Kathryn has written and recorded string parts for dozens of artists, including Jamie Dunn, Shellie Morris, Alyce Platt and Asa Broomhall. Having distilled such classical, alternative and electronic music, Kathryn's original works feature strings, voice, keys, laptop and beats. Kathryn's band has played Brisbane venues the Powerhouse, The Zoo and the Hi-Fi Bar, as well as being featured artists at a Tedx Youth Forum. Kathryn's first album SANG CHAUD features the engineering talents of Andrei Maberley (Alanis Morisette, Operator ...
