Kes Arlo (vox, guitar, keys) Charlie Pyecroft (beats, synths, vox)
Seth Sentry, Horrowshow, Jack Garratt, Ali Barter, Joelistics
Kes Arlo was invented by accident at a Tassie song writing camp in early 2018. What started off as a bit of a joke, soon had a shy indie songwriter actually rapping in front of other people.
Thanks to massive encouragement from Ali Barter and Oscar Dawson (who mentored us on the camp) I decided to step out of my comfort zone and actually go for this. Partly for myself, but also largely due to the severe lack of females in the Aussie Hip Hop scene. It was on the same camp that I began collaborating with Charlie, who's production knowledge and personal love of hip hop has enhanced the project way beyond anything I could imagine. Our strengths really complement each other, and hella productive jams followed on from this camp.
Hip Hop is the last thing I could have predicted myself doing musically, but I am so excited to see where this goes.
