Artist:Kharnex

Kharnex is James Jelliffe, born in 1993 in Brisbane, Australia, into a musical family. With his father and four uncles all having played in bands and his mother having studied music, it appeared inevitable that James would head in that direction. Studying keyboards from 9 years old, James also studied drums and percussion from age 12 and took up guitar, again, at 16. Over the last few years James has had a number of project bands, both cover and original, from prog- rock to a cat empire tribute band, and has placed or won a number of “Battle of the Band” competitions in the Brisbane area. In 2009 he finished just outside the top 3 in The Australian Up and Coming Drummer of the Year. Around the same time he started experimenting with electronic music, one of his great loves. In 2011 James started a Bachelor of Popular Music at the Conservatorium of Music, Gold Coast, Queensland.
