Bio

From the ashes of four influential Australian heavy alternative rock bands comes The Khyber Belt. Founded by former Bushido guitarist Guy Shenfield, the band consists of a stellar line up, including Rook frontman Forbes McKail on lead vocal, Rook guitarist Tyson Fish on guitar, ex Sleep Parade bassist Jimmy Livesey on Bass and Bushido stick man Alex Dinic on drums. 2009 saw the demise of all members’ longtime bands with the exception of Sleep Parade. For some this sounded alarm bells amongst the scene, but for those who got word of what was brewing, a positive outlook towards what would eventuate was the only view possible. The band began to rehearse shenfield’s post Bushido demos in March 2010, and immediately the creative input of all involved saw the songs begin to take on new lives that differed from that of their demo versions. Six of these tracks have just been recorded by guitarist/studio engnneer Tyson Fish and mixed and mastered by renowned engineer Forrester Savell. These recordings make up The Khyber Belt’s debut self titled ep which is due for official release in March 2012. In the meantime the band will be selling the ep at gigs. The band has already played a handful of big shows including ‘Showdown Festival and Creepshow’. They have also just been invited to support the mighty Shihad in November. Stay tuned folks as The Khyber Belt are set to make their mark on the Aus rock scene…
