Kid Koodie stands out of the crowd in more ways than one. The eighteen-year-old emcee is boldly going against the grain by merging the trap styles of American rap with his native Australian scene to create a sound that is all his own. Inspired by the likes of iann dior and TheHxliday, he is well-known for his melodic music featuring layered harmonies and a distinct punk influence as he plays with the more emotional sides of music. He opts for crooning lyrics about heartbreak but can easily get a little dark in the weirdly-laughable emo way. Koodie’s music is by no means a joking matter, and one of his most popular tracks to date is “Legends Never Die - Barney Tribute,” a song dedicated to his late friend who committed suicide. Trap music rarely digs so deeply so openly for the world to see, but yet again this shows the unique characteristics that Kid Koodie brings to the artistry that sets him up for success while setting him apart from the rest!
