Artist: the kindness of strangers
About
Its been a busy year for Brisbanes The Kindness of Strangers, who launched their dark folk-pop or something at a showcase Zoo event in September 2005. From that night on, their sound and reputation for the unusual has drawn crowds to venues across Brisbane including The Rev, The Troubadour, Rics and The Alley Bar, and has landed them international supports with the likes of Jose Gonzalez (Sweden), Kathleen Edwards (Canada), and Kris Demeanour (Canada). Nationally, in the past twelve months, The Kindness have been asked to play alongside prominent artists such as Something for Kate, Sophie Koh, Penelope Swales, Tamas Wells, The Boatpeople and Juan from Epicure, and twice theyve been invited to Melbourne to play shows with the likes of D. Rogers, Emma Heaney (Gorgeous) and Man Bites God. The Kindness of Strangers music consists of male/female vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, flute, and a ukulele, and is being described as emotional, moody, dark, warm, and sometimes ...
