Bio

Blending a distinct influence of 90s hip hop and a progressive production style, Canberra artist Kirklandd has begun to carve a unique lane in the Australian hip hop scene.

Discovering true potential and overcoming barriers in mental health and anxiety are themes that flow steadily through Kirklandd’s music, nurturing his sound with producers Cam Bluff (Amy Shark, Allday) and Kay Ansah (Citizen Kay, Genesis Owusu).

Off the back of his national tour for his new single, ‘Faded’, Kirklandd has garnered a reputation for his explosive live energy and intricate lyricism, having since opened for Seth Sentry, Boo Seeka, Arno Faraji, Dylan Joel and Ivan Ooze in his hometown.

Following his partnering with Oxfam for his first headline hometown show with fellow Canberra artists Moaning Lisa, KG and The Ansah Brothers, Kirklandd has just announced his new role as an artist ambassador for Global Citizen, an exciting new organisation working to end extreme world poverty by 2030.

With the promise of an exciting new single on the way later this year and a full length project underway, Kirklandd continues to re-define what we’re used to hearing in the hip hop genre.

“Kirklandd continues to set himself apart amidst the busy 'new wave' of Australian hip hop, offering depth, patience and lyrical talents largely unseen before” – Pilerats

"Kirklandd is carving a reputation for bridging the energy of the nineties with an ambitious eye for contemporary creativity" - The Interns

Could be the strongest release so far from Kirklandd. Got a widescreen production value on it, reminiscent of the most flossy Spit Syndicate and Illy tracks.
