Bio

After showcasing his anthemic new single ‘Faded’ on his Oxfam-presented national tour late last year, Canberra artist Kirklandd has kicked off 2018 with an exciting new direction as he approaches the release of his debut EP.

Led by production from renowned Australian producer Cam Bluff (Amy Shark, Allday), Kirklandd’s 8-track project will combine his ear for live instruments and progressive production, showcased in his explosive live drum set, having supported Seth Sentry, Dylan Joel, and Citizen Kay on their respective Australian tours.

With his early EP singles garnering support from Triple J, MTV, FBi Radio and community radio nationwide, anticipation has steadily grown for the 23-year-old’s debut project. Mixed by fellow Canberra engineer Kay Ansah (Genesis Owusu, Citizen Kay), Kirklandd’s EP will offer a unique addition to the genre, projecting his aspiration to re-define the sound of hip hop in Australia.

“Kirklandd continues to set himself apart amidst the busy 'new wave' of Australian hip hop, offering depth, patience and lyrical talents largely unseen before” –Pilerats

“Kirklandd is carving a reputation for bridging the energy of the nineties with an ambitious eye for contemporary creativity” – The Interns

“Armed with a charismatic rapid-fire flow and a keen ear for progressive production, Kirklandd has kicked off a full-scale assault on the scene this year” – Best Before

Could be the strongest release so far from Kirklandd. Got a widescreen production value on it, reminiscent of the most flossy Spit Syndicate and Illy tracks.
