Kruger James is a veteran. His resume reads as a how-to in beatmaking, rapping, singing, instrumental virtuosity, live band arrangement, freestyling performance and appreciation. He is unique in not only his range of disciplines, but also in the way that he brings these disparate forms together: there are no samples in Kruger James's beatmaking. Everything is played. From violin to guitar, percussion to piano, trumpet to analogue synths, all are seamlessly combined into a style that draws from modern rap music while still being entirely new. If there was one word to describe Kruger James's music, it's 'organic'.
