KUNST bridges the gap between post-hardcore, indie and metal and delivers a tight, zero-gimmick sound where minimalist, crunching and head-nodding riffs are layered with dissonant melodies and executed with a focussed, abrasively anti-mainstream aggression. KUNST was formed by Peter Mengede of the influential NYC band Helmet, with whom he toured and recorded Strap It On, Meantime (Gold Certified), Born Annoying (singles), and the John Peel Sessions. Post-Helmet, Peter formed the band Handsome who recorded their self-titled debut for Epic records, toured the northern hemisphere and collaborated with KRS One on the Gold Certified “I Got Next” with Handsome contributing “Just to Prove a Point”. Peter is joined by Dale Watkinson (Guitar), Damian Burge (Bass), Rudi Weber (Drums) and Jimmy Sky (Vocals). KUNST have recently completed recording the ‘A.R.T.
