Bio

L.A. Mood is the solo project of Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist and producer Dave Mudie.
He's the full-time drummer for Courtney Barnett, and plays various instruments in upwards of 40 other bands and counting. For him, touring down-time means burying into studio projects and local shows.

Following on from 2017’s debut EP "Crushing Highs & Amazing Lows", L.A. Mood returns with woozy new single “Highway Fidelity”, the first track lifted from upcoming EP "Breakfast At Sassy’s”, which is set for release May 10th. Again enlisting friends from Melbourne's music scene into the recording sessions, and teaming up with Collin Hegna (Brian Jonestown Massacre) for the mixing, Mudie has crafted a 'lil slice that's warm and familiar - sound-dropping his favourite rock moments through the decades, from the swinging 60s, psychedelic 70's and indie-pop of the 00's.

L.A. Mood is launching the EP at Merri Creek Tavern on May 10th, for his first ever show with a full band.

yeah i agree with dan that this has a classic appeal that could slot into the 90s or early 00's but sounds so great right here.

Love this. The guitars, the delivery of the vocal, the hooks. It's just good old fashioned Aussie indie rock (though I kinda get some Flying Nun vibes too) that coulda been made any time in the past 40 years.
