In 1999, singer/songwriter Palky and bass player Lee C*ski wanted to start a new band in the aftermath of their band Fairweather disbanding. Lee knew a drummer named Dan Seymour through friends of friends (this is known as "living in Adelaide") and the 3 started to write songs together. The 3 piece power pop LaRusso started to make rumblings on the Adelaide scene straight away. They entered numerous Battle of the Bands and won many heats and were named UniSA Battle of the Band Winners in 2000. Their mix of loud fast acoustic music tied with quirky and humourous songs won them a loyal following. In 2002, Lee left the band and was replaced by a couple of different bass players, none that really worked out. Dan and Palky went on as a 2 piece and it was in this form that saw them support Sarah Blasko on her first Australian tour.
