Bio

The music of Lek Fonq has been described as pop-funk meets dance with a sunshine party vibe. The band Lek Fonq consists of original members David Ciura (lead vocals/production) and Joe Tomarchio (synths/sequencer/vocals). The band plays live sets with guest guitar, bass, drums, sax, and percussion players. Since forming as a group, Lek Fonq have performed regularly at inner Sydney venues and have toured up and down the east coast of Australia. As a producer David Ciura has released his music productions overseas via various streams including TV, in Australian Film, Compilations and Ring Tones. The productions of David Ciura and Lek Fonq have been played on stations such as FBI, triple j, PBS radio 2ser, Bondi FM. Their music has also been played on stations in Brazil, Begium, Italy and NZ, and featured in inthemix.com.au's podcast series. Lek Fonq successfully released their first EP in 2007 and after various plays on local radio and podcasts, a track from the EP was picked up for an Australian feature film which hit cinemas in 2012. The bands much anticipated film clip and follow-up EP called ‘Inner Rhythm’ was released in early 2010. The track was played locally and overseas and the video was shown on Rage, TVS and shown internationally Short Skirts (Tight Mix) single was released Nov 26, 2011. The film clip released on Youtube Dec 4, is a stop-motion animation musical feast featuring cut-outs of the band members, instruments and some special ladies. The video was featured weekly on Rage, TVS in Australia and also played internationally on radio and TV. Lek Fonq's EP and video "Facebook Lover" were released on 20 Aug 2013. After some time back in the studio... the band's latest single "Do Ya Love" is set for release on Sat Jan 16 2016 and followed by their full length debut album on 19 March 2016.

It's difficult to pull off this kind of retro cheeseball electro funk but you guys manage to do it and come out the other side with your dignity (mostly) in tact. Super slick production with killer bubbly synths and a sax solo is never a bad thing. Vocals could use some work but otherwise I'm digging it.
