The easiest way to describe Leo Creighton’s music is as mongrel rock. It’s the crossbred outcome of a life in transit. Traditional folk melodies and stories of an Irish childhood are pasted with the gutsy resonance of a country and soul upbringing; highlight this with in-your-face boldness of Australian rock and we’ll be heading somewhere in the right direction.
It’s this versatility that has seen Leo carve his initials into the Australian music scene, working and performing with artists such as Ash Grunwald, Wes Carr, and Josh Pyke. His first release ‘Cold Water EP’ became ABC Hobart’s feature album of the week within days of release, and has taken him around the country and state, including sets at Falls Festival, The Taste of Tasmania, and Festival of Voices.
