In an extraordinarily large kitchen in Redfern, on a Sunday afternoon in early 2005, four amateur beatniks sipped chilled Stones Green Ginger Wine with lemonade. The Brigade began there and then, in the spare spaces of that tiled architectural malfunction fuelled by melodica, kazoos, cheap ginger liquors and a general fear of going outside. The Light Brigade is a four piece indie rock group based in Sydney. Mixing four part vocal harmonies, catchy pop melodies and guitar driven rock, their live shows are diverse and will keep you moving all night. The Light Brigade are Shane Murphy (vocals, guitar, keyboards, melodica), Brooke Cotton (vocals, bass guitar, percussion, glock), Scott Mullane (vocals, guitar, synthesisers, ukulele) and Richard Mullane (vocals, drums, percussion, kazoo).
