Bio

Formed in late 2004 in Newcastle, Australia the boys managed to make a name for themselves in a matter of months thanks to their stirring sense of musicality and frenzied live shows which often culminated in medical injury. Combining influences such as the intellectual and catchy songwriting of Thursday, to the passion and fierce vocal melodies of Taking Back Sunday, with a stage presence some may liken to At The Drive-In, these boys work hard for the attention they are beginning to receive. Lights Out Berlin's first year together could only be described as a whirlwind both musically and in regards to members. A few lineup changes early in the year helped LOB to find their feet as the quintet they are today. Adding to playing a massive 35+ shows, which included a fully self-funded, completely self-booked tour that took them to Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Wollongong, as well as local supports with bands such as After The Fall, Kisschasy, Bodyjar, Grand Fatal, Horsell Common, In The Grey, The Coldspoon Conspiracy (Ireland), Pure Evil Trio, Conation, The Camels, The Amity Affliction and more, also winning Newcastle's own Mattara Festival band competition and the Maryland Stickfest band competition, and participating in "Future Rock" at the Hard Rock Cafe, Sydney, not much could be put past them. Adding to Lights Out Berlin's massive first year, they also found time to unleash their debut EP Lights Out Berlin onto the foaming masses in September 2005 and accompanied that with their previously mentioned self-funded and self-booked tour. Recorded in conjunction with Polar Recordings, the four tracks on offer not only showcase the band's intense energy and creative musicianship, but also hint at more grandiose things to come in the future.

Freaking hot. Enough variety to be interesting without falling apart.
