Check out the 'Smokin' Gun' video: http://bit.ly/17Jo5BG The debut single 'Smokin' Gun' from Indie Retro-Rock outfit, Lily So & The Bellows, flourishes with lush vocals, vintage charm and that big Phil Spector sound as a serenade to unrequited love. The following single, 'Madness' is the gritty B-side. Dark and rhythmic with blues undertones, 'Madness' speaks of the insatiable hunger for money and possessions. Credits: Lily So: Vocals, guitar Anj Ella: Vocals Sarah Jullienne: Keys, Vocals James McKenna: Bass Alex Lees: Guitar Dave Jenkins (Young Romantics): Guest Drummer Recorded by Michael Wheatley at Nut'N'Butter Studios. Mixed by Tony Buchen (Tim Finn, The Preatures, Andy Bull), and mastered by Steve Smart at Studio 301. A book worm from a very young age, Lily has always been obsessed with folk stories. This love soon began to be translated into songs after becoming acquainted to the sturdy guitar and the likes of Eva Cassidy, Edith Piaf and Ella Fitzgerald. Joined by Anj Ella on BVs and percussion, Sarah on Keys, James on bass, and more recently, Alex on electric guitar and Kristjan on Drums, they create a sound that is whimsical, fun and at times, haunting and impassioned. Drawing elements from pop, blues and jazz, Lily So & The Bellows create a palette that is colourful, demanding and rich. Lily So has graced the stages of Melodica, an international folk festival connecting artists around the world, Bondi Music Festival, Jurassic Lounge and Peats Ridge Festival 2011.

There's a strong case to shut down this whole soul-pop revival scene because it can't get much better than this. What a wonderfully floaty and gold-hued gem.
