The Little Lord Street band is poised to claim 2020 as their year.
Dynamic, danceable, rocky and sometimes just a little emotional - the Perth-based band has already staked their place in the hearts of WA music lovers (3 years straight Western Australia Music Award winners) with multiple festival performances and a string of unforgettable gigs.
5 years of solid touring has built a growing fanbase beyond WA, in support of International and local artists – The Whitlams, Ruby Boots (USA/WA), Justin Townes Earle (USA) and Gomez (UK). From Bigsound in Brisbane to St Kilda Festival and Out on the Weekend in Melbourne, via Sydney and the East Coast’s pubs and venues, The Little Lord Street band brings the good times and great music, the audience does the dance shuffling and hollering, and everyone goes home filled to the brim.
Indie? Folk? Alt Country? Or a combination of all 3 with a splash of WA grittiness? However you want to label it, their music is infectious and highly memorable. The 2018 EP ‘Waking Up Next to You’ brought national airplay, hitting ABC Country rotation, RTR and Double J charts and WAM ‘Song of The Year’ award winners with singles ‘Maybe I’m Just in Love’ and ‘Heartache Moon’.
Now The Little Lord Street band is on the verge of releasing their first full length album in August of 2020. Recorded in Perth’s Rada Studios and featuring the Little Lord Street trademark vocal harmonies with Belle Harvey (mando, harmonica), driving rhythm section of Alex Megaw and Michael Savage (drums and bass respectively) and the songwriting of Natasha Shanks and James Rogers who share vocals and guitar.
The first single ‘Frankie’s back in town’’ was released in June 2019 and peaked high on the AMRAP charts. The second single ‘Where are We’ followed in October - lighting up the Double J switchboard and sparking a twitter love-fest. An extensive East Coast tour in support of this single followed, much to the delight of the growing fan base across the desert. The third single, ‘Fighting for Air’ is set for release in March 2020.
