Bio

Gavin Arnold, known professionally as Littlehawk, is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Perth, Australia. The name "Littlehawk" derives from the name Gavin meaning "white hawk" and his high school nickname "Little Gav".

After over 10 years performing as bass guitarist and keyboardist with Simon Kelly and Toby Beard – including multiple Australian, European and Canadian tours – Gavin decided to pursue his own music, encouraged by a finalist nomination in APRA TropScore and semi-finalist in the Song of the Year contest.

He began his solo project Littlehawk in November 2017 and has already performed at a variety of live music venues in Perth. Most notably, at the Yagan Square opening in the Perth CBD and the State Theatre Courtyard.

Littlehawk's debut album 'Chinchilla' charts the personal journey of the songwriter over the past ten years – with themes of love, hope, imagination, melancholy and reflection – and its release coincided with the birth of his first baby, Millie.

The 12-track album was recorded and mixed by Matt Gio at Rada Studios and mastered by Grammy award-winner William Bowden at King Willy Sound.

A sweet ode to a unborn baby. This song beautifully captures the love felt but not yet fully understood for a child about to enter a first-time parent’s life. Has a punchy catchy rhythm but also a real gentleness as the singer muses about what lies ahead... bound to get into your head and stay there, demanding more plays!
