About
With his band, Melbourne singer/songwriter Lou Davies writes pop songs with a 60’s nostalgia scattered throughout with influences from the likes of Lou Reed and Paul McCartney but also more recent songwriters such as Paul Kelly, Kurt Vile and Sixto Rodriguez. His songs bridge many genres from pop rock, to garage rock, to psychedelic rock, to slacker rock. Lou’s debut EP ‘Riverrock Baby’, released in November 2017 was recorded in his converted studio in Thornbury, Melbourne with the help of producer/engineer Edward Lloyd (Jeffers Limit). Featuring washy acoustic guitars, jangly 12-string electric guitars, high-register harmonies and flowing chord progressions, the songs highlight a heavy Beatles and Beach Boys influence while the relaxed lead vocal delivery and lyricism evokes more of a Lou Reed signature. Lou’s songs are as full of character and originality as they are a tip of the hat to his influences. https://www.facebook.com/loudaviesmusic ...
