Bio

Louis Spoils is Jake Rush, a singer & songwriter who manages to push through the overflowing pool of Australian indie music and demands attention with his insightful lyricism and ingenious guitar work.

Anxiety caused Rush’s self-title debut to remain songs in his head for quite some time, until friends Wally De Backer (Gotye), Sam Cromack (Ball Park Music) and Kane Mazlin (Hungry Kids Of Hungary), amongst others, helped out by recording various instruments for the record, pushing the EP to be released in 2013.

Going from strength to strength, Rush has since become known for his charismatic live show, notably supporting The Basics and Canada’s Half Moon Run, and expanding to a full band live show in 2014. Unassuming, Louis Spoils now turns to recording a debut album and looks to release new tracks in 2015.

I recently acquired the EP from which this song is from. I am totally in love with this sound. This track has such a timeless feel to it that I could imagine spinning it on a record player volume turned UP. The lead singer Jake's voice is sublime. It has a similar tone and power to Sting - but with a whole other quality that I want to hear more of. The rhythm, instrumentation and melodic movements within this delicious pop single are well crafted and entice to listener to come back and hear it again and again. Hope this band gets the attention they deserve and this song gets airplay on the J's.
