Bio

Cow bell, shakers, güiro and congas star alongside smoky vocals, tremolo guitar and dry humour in Melbourne’s Louis Valentine & The Golden Age, a band whose four-piece rhythm section seems to grow by the day. Born in 2016, of a need to hear meaningful lyrics over devastatingly danceable tunes, The Golden Age provide a groovy, funky canvas on which Louis Valentine paints catchy melodies and irreverent observations about everyday life.

But they’re definitely not a funk band and everybody knows groove is in the heart. Drawing heavily on Motown, 60s rock ‘n’ roll and Brit Pop bands from the turn of the century, Louis Valentine & The Golden Age play soul-pop tunes infused with latin rhythms, sung by a bloke who fancies himself as a "young Joe Cocker, without sideburns".

After two EPs and a bunch of sold-out live shows, Louis Valentine & The Golden Age are currently recording a full-length album and are ready to unleash their unique brand of
soulful rock ‘n’ roll on the world.

Their debut, self-titled EP and its follow-up – Lambda Lambda Lambda – are available to stream and download at your favourite music service.

EVERY TIME!

That voice gets me EVERY TIME!

From one Lou(is) to another there's definitely a Lou Reed Walk on the Wild Side vibe to it - cool stuff.
