Artist:Lucas O'Connell

Lucas is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music evokes the likes of Nick Drake or Leonard Cohen. His soft acoustic and vocal styles are reminiscent of an early 70's lyrical folk singer. He sings mysterious lyrics that are deeply philosophical, poetic, and personal, and he expresses them with a sense of haunting nostalgia in his vocals which brings out his Irish musical heritage. Lucas' unique folk music has been well received in the United Kingdom, where he was based until recently, and also in his original home countries of both Australia and New Zealand. He independently released his debut album 'Songs to Sleep On' in October 2013 to good reviews. Some of his songs have been featured on music blogs in various countries, and his music video 'Liquid Night', as well as being played on Rage, was nominated for best music video at the 2014 Byron Bay International Film Festival.
