Bio

Fresh from 5 months spent writing and recording in South America, poetic rapper Luka Lesson returns with ‘WELCOME TO PARADOX’ – a brave new ode to the paradoxical nature of our current political climate. Recorded in Brazil with Chilean producer Pablo Molina, the song rolls on with a soulfully smooth tone. Lyrically it delves into the hypocrisies that arise from living in countries like ours: beautiful natural views, surrounded by ugly political landscapes. The single is released alongside a national tour throughout July & August.

Luka Lesson is an Australian born poet and rap artist of Greek heritage.

Luka’s work engages with the mythology of his family homeland, the fiercely political and the vulnerably self-reflective. Luka is a previous Australian Poetry Slam Champion, had poems published in a number of international anthologies, released his own collections and musical albums and toured extensively both at home and abroad. He has toured Australia with the likes of Nahko & Medicine for the People (AUS), AKALA (UK), Dr Cornel West (USA) & Lowkey (UK). Luka has always used education programs as a form of activism and social change in schools and universities worldwide. His poem 'May Your Pen Grace The Page' will appear in Australian English curriculums from 2019 until 2025. Luka runs his own annual poetry retreat is his grandfather’s village on the island of Rhodes, Greece.

WELCOME TO PARADOX will be launched by an Australian tour throughout July and August 2019. Tour info: www.lukalesson.com.au/tour

Yeah buddy, not many messing with Luka when it comes to putting words together. But beyond that, it's Luka's conviction that is truly unmessable. Yeah, I made that word up, so what of it?
