Bio

Lance Ferguson's (The Bamboos/Lanu) project Machines Always Win walks a sonic line between pure pop sensibility and melancholic deepness: sun-drenched and dreamy with melodies that evoke some kind of re-imagined echo of 80's electronic soundtrack music. Machines Always Win draws influences from Boards Of Canada, The Breakfast Club, Ryuichi Sakamoto, DJ Shadow, Lost In Translation, Talking Heads, Maurice Jarre, Brian Eno & The Cocteau Twins.
The production weaves futuristic, swirling multi-layered textures that incorporate both electronic and live instruments. It is a collage of synthesizers, ambient electronic 'Walls Of Sound', un-quantised live drum beats and thrift-shop guitars - It will leave you feeling the way Trip Fontaine feels for Lux Lisbon as they lock eyes in the school yard – a tug of nostalgia, a heavy heart beat, a dreamy haze.

Partial to a bit of winding organic groove - especially when it glistens serenely as it does here.

Summer dreams, if I had a convertible it would be top down and this song on as we laughed at the world
