Born out of wed lock, then adopted by his aunt Helen who ran a brothel in Box Hill south. Mack Loven's early childhood antics remain legendary and mainly consisted of looking after the brothel and the workers when his aunt was busy with customers, Aunt Helen says "He was a good communicator, good looking and the ladies couldn't resist his charm so it was natural that I'd teach him a few tricks of the trade".
