Blending smooth guitar riffs with alternative production, the Melbourne based Mackenzie Parker is one to watch. Hailing from the Western suburbs, Mackenzie’s take on alternative indie is refreshingly gritty and his Debut Ep “I Wonder if We’ll Feel Like This Forever” sees Mackenzie teaming up with fellow Melbourne artist/producer ‘Injoy’ creating a collage of Mackenzie's experiences/feelings growing up in suburbia. Covering themes such as substance abuse & eating disorders as it polarises itself with songs of love, rebirth & growth. The lead single “Cash Only” showcases this front and centre, lyrically focusing on the ups and downs of night life and the harsh reality of addiction. The sombre delivery of the verses are laid out on a bed of lush guitar chords and saturated drum tones, displaying the records theme and saturated contrast.
