Combining 60s psychedelia, folk noir, art rock, neoclassical and gothic post-punk, The Mad Pride has been described as haunting and ominous like Syd Barrett and David Bowie collaborating on a Tim Burton film soundtrack. Comparisons are often made to Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, Erik Satie, Opeth, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen. It is the solo recording project of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Rowan Galagher. Since 2009 Rowan has made 4 original albums. He has moved from avant-garde psych-folk experimentation to cinematic soundscapes and towards a classical style of psychedelic rock. His DIY ethic motivated him to play the majority of the instruments himself and record them alone in his Wollongong based apartment.
