Bio

Maddie Cooper is an emotive performer who seamlessly combines poetic, singer/songwriter folk with electronic pop. Blending influences from Julia Michaels, Carole King, Taylor Swift and more, Cooper’s distinctive vocal styling is expressive and tender. Having half-heartedly taken piano lessons throughout school, her introduction to songwriting came at age 21, but she refuses to be held back by a late start. Passionate about pop music and its power to befriend you in an empty room, Maddie’s debut single “Plant Song” - a heartbreaking take on ghosting buried underneath the metaphor of a forgotten houseplant - is set for release February 13th 2020, just in time for Valentine’s tears and Cooper’s 25th birthday.

On stage, Maddie Cooper presents a show which is all-at-once a display of pop finesse and a warm hug. A set list of self-arranged original songs showcase her expertise as a songwriter, vocalist and producer. At the intersection of Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift circa 2012, Cooper’s band has no troubles juxtaposing luscious harmonies with dirty bass lines, 808’s with an acoustic drum kit, and ballads with bops. Storytelling lyricism (feat. sarcasm) comes to life on a backdrop of moving synths so pack your dancing shoes and allow yourself to be uplifted by Maddie’s vibrant, dynamic stage presence.

i realised around a minute in that i was literally holding my breath as i listened to this. you're a storyteller and it shows.
