Bio

The Maids' unique fusion of powerhouse groove/roots/rock has been described in the media as 'a blend of New Orleans funk band The Meters and Jimi Hendrix'. Formed in Sydney in 2003, The Maids comprises vocalist/guitarist Greg Nunan, with Dobro slide guitarist Aaron Houston (Extended Family), bass man Mark Holbert (Peregrine) and Dave Sleishman on drums. Previously known as The G.Nunan Project and well-established in Sydney under that name, the band is relaunching with a fresh look reflective of their new moniker, The Maids. The sound roars from rock to blues, to funk and back again with each musician one of the best in their field. The suave bluesy rock groove pushes audiences to their feet while the soul ballads offer lyrical tales tall and true, all presented with charismatic larrikin style by frontman, Greg Nunan. With the EP 'She Says' now sold out (released 2005) and an album in the works, The Maids are receiving airplay on Triple J, Triple R, 2SER and FBI. The band held a residency at The Empire Hotel in Annandale mid-2005, was a featured artist on Newcastle ABC radio late in 2005, headlined MS Fundraiser at The Annandale Hotel and has played venues and festivals including The Basement, The Metro, The Civic Hotel, Brass Monkey, The Empire Hotel and most recently, The Mandalay Room @ Kings Cross. The Maids recently supported Triple J artist & winner of 2006 Fuse Festival competition, Dallas Frasca, in Sydney at The Vanguard. Be our friend! Go to www.myspace.com/maidsmusic

Great groove, nice playing, but gets lost towards to the end. Would have liked a killer guitar solo and a fadeout on the opening groove again to finish off.

Funky Vibe. Like the singers voice. Nice warm tone. The band sounds like they can play too. Catchy stuff. Will definitely keep a look out for live shows.
