About
Main Street Light Parade are a 5 piece indie-pop band heralding from Adelaide. Formed in mid-2018, their music wouldn’t feel out of place on a 90s Brit-pop playlist. They began playing together 3 weeks before their first gig and, sang songs about love, heartbreak and cleaning products. Having shared stages with local artists Velvet Void, Heaps Good Friends and Jesse Davidson (to name a few), Main Street Light Parade has been making a name for themselves on the Adelaide circuit. On the 20th of September 2019, they played to a crowd of 19,000 people for the School Strike 4 Climate to help rally support for our environment. Lead singer Mara sings with a voice that harks back to those sung by Harriet Wheeler from the SUNDAYS with George’s guitar playing recalling elements from Jonny Marr and John Squire’s guitar playing in The Smiths and The Stone Roses (respectively).
