Bio

'The Mamanta Crew' was born as part of a 5 week Desert Pea Media project in Milikapiti, Tiwi Islands alongside a range of short films, vignettes, documentaries and stories called 'Tiwi TV'. These stories describe the life and conversations of the people of Milikapiti.

The group was formed from a cross-section of the community including a group of amazing young men (David Guy, Dylan Black and others), students from the local primary school and elders/ other community members.

'Mamanta' means simply 'friend' in Tiwi.

The beat on this really knocks! So good to hear what you've all created here, it's so strong.
