Maroota Joe is a group of progressive-hard rockers hailing from North Western Sydney. With a sound that ranges from relentless, machine-like, monster riffs, to shy, stripped back, vulnerable moments of doom. They love slipping into odd time signatures and playing with overlapping polyrhythms, however maintaining a coherent groove throughout the entirety of their work. The contrasting musical influences within the band create a world of depth and complexity. Drawing from artists such as King Crimson, Tool, Down, Talking Heads, Black Sabbath, Chon, Northlane, Primus and Rage Against The Machine. Maroota Joe are relentless, raw, emotive and real.
